The Fordson Returns
Tractor enthusiasts, young and old, will enjoy seeing the working 1952 Fordson tractor at Sandy Creek Valley.
Starting its working life at a neighbouring property, the Fordson was owned by Mr Bob Thompson and served him well during the years he was a dairy farmer at Carlisle River.
The Fordson was taken to the Heytesbury Settlement when Mr Thompson moved his young family to a new farm in 1970. The Fordson was an integral part of the dairy farm for many years, and when Mr Thompson retired he’s wish was for the tractor to ‘return from whence it came’.
Arriving at Sandy Creek Valley earlier this year the Fordson has quickly settled in. Visitors to Sandy Creek Valley will be able to see the Fordson undertake light duties and track the restoration progress.
